Are you a good person?

In Your personal opinion what do you understand it takes for a person to go to heaven?

Allow us to share with you how the Bible answers this question.

It requires a step of FAITH...

F is for Forgiveness

We cannot have eternal life and heaven without God's forgiveness. "In whom (meaning Jesus) we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins" (Ephesians 1:7a).

A is for Available

Forgiveness is available for All.  "For God so loved the world that He gave His ONLY begotten  son , that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16)

But forgiveness is not Automatic. "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 7:21a).

I is for Impossible

It is impossible for God to allow sin into heaven.

Because of who God is: He is Love: "For God so Loved the world that He gave..." (John 3:16) and He is Just: "He shall have judgment without mercy " (James 2:13a)

Because of who we are: "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)

How then can a sinful person enter heaven, where God allows no sin?

T is for Turn

If you were driving and someone asked you to turn they would be asking you to change directions. In the Bible the word for turn is "repent."

Turn from something-sin and self . "except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish" (Luke 13:3b)

You must turn to someone; trust Christ only. The Bible tells us that "Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;  And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures "  (1Corinthians 15:3-4b)

" That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved" (Romans 10:9).

H is for Heaven

Heaven is eternal life.

We have eternal life HERE- " I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly " (John 10:10b)

...and HEREAFTER- " And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also " (John 14:3).

HOW can a person have God's forgiveness, heaven and eternal life, and Jesus as personal Lord and Savior?

Remember that the Bible tells us "if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

Take the step of faith described by another meaning of FAITH...

F orsaking All I T rust Him

Prayer...

"Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and have displeased You in many ways. I believe You died for my sin and only through faith in Your death and resurrection can I be forgiven. I want to turn from my sin and ask You to come into my life as my Savior and Lord. From this day on, I will follow You by living a life that pleases You. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving me. -Amen."
